Field Trips

Throughout the year, students at Montezuma will be taking trips to various places with their class. When a teacher plans a trip, it is required that they send home a permission slip with their students. In order to avoid the unpleasant situation of a student not being allowed to attend the field trip, please sign the form and encourage your child to return it promptly to his or her teacher. If you do not want your child to go on the trip, we will provide an instructional alternative. If a child does not have a signed permission slip, they will not attend the field trip. When a child’s behavior might jeopardize his/her safety or the safety of other students, he/she will not attend the field trip. The decision of the teacher and principal will be final in all cases. Families are invited to accompany their child on class field trips. For the safety of our students anyone who would like to volunteer must complete a background check through APS. Since this is a time to have a learning experience with your child, siblings may not attend field trips.
