August 2016

Dear Montezuma Elementary Families,

It is my great honor and pleasure to be named the new Principal of Montezuma Elementary School.  I am excited to start a new school year and get to know everyone in the Montezuma family.

I have been an educator with Albuquerque Public Schools for 17 years.  I have taught general education and served as an instructional coach and administrator throughout Albuquerque.   I have a Bachelors in Liberal Arts, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education, and an Educational Specialist certification.  I hold a Level Three-A Instructional Leader K-8 Elementary License and a Level Three-B Pre K-12 Administrative License.  I am also a proud National Board Certified Teacher.

I believe that when involved families and a group of thoughtful, committed educators set out to make a difference in the life of every child, the sky’s the limit!  Through continuous communication, collaboration and cooperation we can continue the tradition of high quality education at Montezuma and the pursuit of our students’ enormous potential.

I am looking forward to working with you as a partner in your child's education and  welcome your continued support as we venture into this exciting journey together.  I am honored to work with such a dedicated staff and community and will always do my best to support Montezuma's students, families, and staff in every capacity.

I hope to meet you all soon. Please feel free to stop in, call or email me to share your celebrations, questions or concerns, so together can make this the best year yet at Montezuma.

Sincerely,

Mark Woodard
